This past November, I joined several other PhD students and CWBE postdocs to take part in our seasonal river sampling campaign. We investigated the water quality of river Avon at two locations, near the Radstock wastewater treatment plant and another wastewater treatment plant near Paulton. This is done routinely to measure and monitor the health of the river.

On June 2-4th, I attended the Testing the Waters 8 conference as a member of the Centre of Excellence in Water-Based Early-Warning Systems for Health Protection (CWBE). Testing the Waters is an annual international conference focused on wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) and surveillance. This year it was held at the University of Puget Sound in beautiful Tacoma, Washington with Mount Rainier visible on the skyline.
