Dr Bilikis Folarin
Technical Staff
Dr Bilikis Folarin’s research focuses on mass spectrometric techniques for analysis of trace levels of legacy and emerging pollutants in environmental matrices. She explores statistical and spatial analysis of her environmental data for pattern and source identifications. She has particular interest in assessing the risk from human exposure to these harmful contaminants. Dr Folarin is currently a technical specialist within the centre, supporting two United Kingdom Water Industry Research (UKWIR) funded projects. For both projects, a wide range of analytical techniques will be applied to inform on the dynamics and fate of investigated trace organics, including antimicrobials, pharmaceuticals, POPs, and other emerging contaminants, in environmental samples obtained from wastewater treatment plants and integrated constructed wetlands in the United Kingdom.
